High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) is Germany’s most active early-phase investor. With a fund size of EUR 885 million (EUR 272 million in Fund I, EUR 304 million in Fund II, and ca. As well as high-quality coaching sessions, we organise matching events such as the Investforum pitch day to bring people together from both sides of the equation. Investforum Startup-Service links new companies with investors and potential partners from the fields of business and science. Close collaboration between individual target groups provides investors with access to start ups; companies can also find out about the latest innovations, which can help them secure a competitive edge over their peers.

Investforum Startup-Service receives financial support from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digitalisation using funds from the European Social Fund and the State of Saxony-Anhalt, and is coordinated by the Univations Institute for Knowledge and Technology Transfer.

The start-up service of Martin Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), is a point of contact which helps students and academics interested in starting a business to bring their ideas to fruition. It gives a helping hand to students and academics from the MLU who wish to start their own company, and supports them in the commercial exploitation of their research results and discoveries. Its services include information about start-ups and the development of entrepreneurial skills. In addition, members and alumni receive advice on how to develop business models, strategies, services and products, from the basic idea to the establishment of a company. With its incubators and innovation labs, premises and infrastructure are made available so that ideas can be given an opportunity to mature. Start-up entrepreneurs are given access to an excellent network of potential partners, and to a practical mentorship programme.

The technology park on Weinberg Campus is the region’s centre of innovation for the life sciences and material sciences sector. Covering 134 hectares, it is the largest of its kind in central Germany. Some 160 start ups have enjoyed the optimum conditions it provides since it was first established in 1993. Today, it is home to more than a hundred companies and institutes with ca. 5,500 employees.
